누군가와 합의하거나(주로 금전·분쟁 관련), 완벽하지 않아도 있는 그대로를 받아들이는 것.

법적, 비즈니스 상황에서 주로 쓰이며, 부족하지만 그대로 받아들이는 의미도 있음. 'settle for'는 원하는 것보다 적은 것에 만족하는 것과 다르니 혼동 주의.

After a long dispute, they finally settled with the company.

긴 분쟁 끝에 그들은 결국 회사와 **합의했다**.
