"pull out of thin air" in Japanese
Definition
事前の準備や根拠なしに、突然アイデアや答え・情報を作り出すこと。つまり、まるで魔法のように何もないところから生み出すこと。

会話やカジュアルな場面で使われることが多く、根拠のない話や即席の答えなどに対して疑いや批判を込めて使う。『pull out of thin air』は「でっち上げる」「急に思いつく」感覚です。
