本や雑誌などが出版社からもう印刷・販売されていない状態を表す表現です。

主に本や雑誌に使います。他の商品の場合はあまり使いません。図書館や本の収集に関する話題でよく使われ、新品として出版社からは入手できませんが、中古では見つかることもあります。

That book is out of print now.

その本は今**絶版**です。

The magazine went out of print last year.
