Definition

ধীরে ধীরে কমে যাওয়া, অদৃশ্য হয়ে যাওয়া, বা দৃষ্টির বাইরে চলে যাওয়া। সাধারণত সংখ্যা, শব্দ বা মানুষ কমে যাওয়ার বা হারিয়ে যাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

বর্ণনামূলক বা সাহিত্যিক ইংরেজিতে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। জনতা, শব্দ, সংখ্যা বা অনুভূতির জন্য ('the noise dropped away', 'his friends dropped away') ব্যবহৃত। বস্তু পড়ে যাওয়ার অর্থে নয়—'drop' ব্যবহার করুন।
