「come out」は現れる、出版・公開される、自分のこと（特に性的指向）を打ち明ける意味があります。

日常会話でよく使います。映画や本の公開、秘密の暴露、性的指向のカミングアウトに使われます。「come out in favor of」は誰かや何かを公に支持する際に使います。
