A slang word for a police officer who works with drug crimes, or for someone who tells the police about illegal activities.
Uso & Nuances
Very informal and slang. Often used negatively when referring to someone who informs ("snitches") to the police. Can mean an actual narcotics officer, but often used for any informer. In police dramas, "narc" is also used for undercover drug police. Avoid in formal situations.
