ホワイトハットは、ハッキング技術を善意で使い、企業をサイバー攻撃から守る人のことです。また、一般的に良い意図で行動する人にも使われます。

主にIT・セキュリティ分野で使われ、「black hat（悪意のあるハッカー）」の反対です。一般的に善意の人を指す場合もあります。「white hat hacker」「white hat tactics」といった表現がよく使われます。
