Definition

ファンや小型モーターなどが出す、低くて続くブーンという音。主に機械や虫が音を立てるときに使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

人が出す音には使わず、機械や虫の音を表す時に使う。「fan whirs」「drone whirs」などの機械に多い表現。'roar'ほど大きくはなく、静かな音。
