周囲を見渡すためや警備のために建てられた、高い建物。主に城や刑務所、国境などで使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

実際の建築物を指す場合がほとんどで、「警備」や「パトロール」などと一緒に使われます。比喩的な使い方はほとんどありません。
