'Watchful' थोड़ा औपचारिक है और अक्सर सतर्क या सुरक्षात्मक रुख दिखाने के लिए प्रयोग होता है। आम वाक्यांश: 'watchful eye', 'remain watchful'। यह 'vigilant' जितना ज़ोरदार नहीं, पर 'careful' से अधिक सक्रिय है।
