弱まる衰える欠ける（天体）
Definition
物事が徐々に弱くなったり、小さくなったり、重要性を失っていくこと。特に月の欠けや、興味や力などが減少する場合に使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に文学的表現やフォーマルな場面で使われます。「興味がwaning」「on the wane」などの形が多い。急激な減少や物理的な減少には使いません。
