'Veg' बहुत अनौपचारिक है और सामान्यतः ब्रिटिश अंग्रेजी में मिलता है; अमेरिकी अंग्रेज़ी में 'veggies' अधिक आम है। 'Veg out' (आलसी होकर आराम करना) का सब्ज़ी से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है।
