Bir kişi 'üstünlük' sahibiyse, bir çatışma, rekabet veya pazarlıkta kontrol ya da avantaj elde etmiş olur.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
Genellikle güç, rekabet veya tartışma ortamlarında kullanılır. 'gain the upper hand', 'have the upper hand', 'lose the upper hand' gibi kalıplara dikkat edin. Çok resmi yazılarda uygun değildir.
