지퍼가 달린 것을 여는 것 또는 압축 파일 안의 파일을 푸는 것을 뜻한다.

주로 옷, 가방에 쓰며 IT에서는 압축 해제를 의미. 'zips up'(닫다)과 혼동하지 않기.
