欲しいものや目標を手に入れるために、挑戦したり努力すること。難しいものや競争のあるものに使われる。

「try for」の後には名詞が続き、「仕事に挑戦する」など目標や賞・ポジションの場面で使う。行動自体には「try to」を使う。
