出行时使用某种交通工具，如汽车、火车、飞机或公交车等，从一个地方到另一个地方。

通常后面接交通工具名词：“travel by car”（乘车旅行）、"travel by train"（乘火车）。步行用“on foot”，骑自行车用“by bike”。适中到正式用法，口语中常直接说交通工具。
