Definition

自分の持っているものを、より良いまたは価値のあるものと交換すること。特に車や携帯電話のような商品の購入や売却の際によく使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな表現で、大きな買い物（車、家、電子機器など）に使います。日常の小さな物にはあまり使いません。「～にグレードアップする」「～を買い替える」と表現します。
