拷問者とは、他人に意図的に激しい苦痛や苦しみを与える人のことです。たいてい情報を引き出したり、罰したり、脅したりする目的で行われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

歴史的、法律的、または報道の文脈で使われることが多く、日常会話ではあまり使われません。'torturer' は組織的・職業的に拷問をする人を指し、一般的な「苦しめる人（tormentor）」や「拷問という行為（torture）」とは異なります。
