जिसमें बहुत मोड़ या घुमाव हो, या कोई ऐसी चीज जो समझने में जटिल और कठिन हो। इसका उपयोग मुड़ी-तुड़ी सड़कों के लिए या जटिल कहानियों/समझाइयों के लिए किया जाता है।

'Tortuous' औपचारिक शब्द है, आमतौर पर लिखने में इस्तेमाल होता है। यह शारीरिक रूप (गोल-मोल रास्ते) और जटिल विचारों दोनों के लिए है। इसे 'torturous' (यातनादायक) से न मिलाएँ।
