'Tongues'是'tongue'的复数，既可以指嘴里的舌头，也可以指人们说的语言。

正式场合下可指多个舌头，文学作品中较常用。但更常见意思是不同“语言”，“speak in tongues”特指说不明白的语言（通常指宗教语境）。日常生活中不常用作指多个舌头。
