誰かをとても怖がらせたり、ひどく怯えさせたりすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'恐がらせる'は非常に強い恐怖を表すフォーマルな言葉。「私は怯えた」のように受け身でよく使う。普通の「怖がる」よりも強い恐怖に使う。
