"syncope" in Japanese
Definition
突然気を失うこと。医学用語として使われ、脳への血流が減少したときに起こる。言語学では、語中の音や文字が省略される現象を指す。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に医療や言語学の専門用語で、日常会話ではあまり使われません。「失神」は一般的に気絶を指し、語中省略は専門的な解説や詩の分析で使われます。音楽用語の「シンコペーション」とは異なります。
