Definition

나무가 바람에 흔들리거나 배가 파도 위에서 흔들리는 것처럼 천천히 부드럽게 반복해서 한쪽에서 다른 쪽으로 움직이다.

부드럽고 리듬감 있는 움직임을 나타낼 때 사용하며, 빠르거나 거친 움직임에는 사용하지 않음. 나무, 배, 춤추는 사람이나 어지러울 때 많이 씀. 단순히 '움직이다'나 '흔들다'보다 더 서정적이고 묘사적인 표현.

The tall grass sways from side to side in the wind.
