Definition
सर्जरी या चोट के बाद डाक्टर घाव बंद करने के लिए जिन टांकों का इस्तेमाल करते हैं, वे सु़चर कहलाते हैं। यह शब्द इन टांकों के लिए इस्तेमाल धागे या हड्डियों के बीच तय जगह (खासकर खोपड़ी) के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होता है।

यह एक औपचारिक और चिकित्सीय शब्द है। आम बोलचाल में लोग 'टांके' अधिक बोलते हैं। मुख्यता सर्जिकल टांकों के लिए, लेकिन हड्डी की जुड़ने की जगहों के लिए भी इस्तमाल होता है।
