必要以上にある分や余ったもののこと。特にお金や物資などに使われる表現です。

「surplus」は経済やビジネス、資源管理などフォーマルな場面でよく使われます（例：'budget surplus'＝予算の黒字）。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
