画像やレイヤー、物などを他のものの上に重ねて、両方が一緒に見えるようにすること。多くの場合、合成効果を生み出します。

主にアート、写真、映画、ソフトウェアなどで使われます。画像やテキスト、効果などとの組み合わせ（例：'superimpose a logo on a picture'）が多いです。ややフォーマル/技術用語。物理的に上に置くわけではなく、重ねて両方とも見えるようにします。
