健康的で魅力的な肌色を表すときによく使うが、日焼けしすぎは肌に悪い場合もある。「サンバーン（日焼けによる炎症）」とは異なる。『日焼けをする』は「日焼けしたい」や「日焼けした」という意味で使われる。
