長い文章やスピーチなどから、重要なポイントや主な内容を簡潔にまとめて伝えること。

'summarize'は主に学習やビジネスの場面で使われます。“summarize a text”、“summarize the main points”などの表現がよく使われ、細かい部分ではなく主な内容に焦点を当てます。“paraphrase”（言い換え）とは異なります。
