Definition

詳しい内容や具体的な名前を出さずに、物事や人をぼんやり指し示すときに使われる表現です。

カジュアルな場面で、内容がよく分からない時や詳しく説明する必要がない時によく使います。「〜とかそういう」「何々」などで言い換えます。

He bought such and such items at the store.

彼はお店で**何々**の商品を買った。

My teacher gave us such and such instructions.

先生が私たちに**何々**の指示を出した。

You have to be at such and such place at 2 PM.

午後2時に**そういう**場所に行かなければならない。

She always talks about such and such problems but never gives details.
