구멍이나 틈을 막아서 아무것도 통과하지 못하게 하는 것. 주로 파이프, 병, 틈새 등에 사용함.

일상 대화보다는 설명서, 안내문 등에서 더 자주 사용되며 'stop'(멈추다)와 의미가 다름. 주로 수리, 의료, DIY 맥락에 쓰임.
