কোনো কিছু বা কাউকে কাঁপা বা অস্থিরতা থেকে থামিয়ে স্থির ও নিরাপদ করে তোলে এমন কিছু।

'a steadying hand', 'steadying influence' ইত্যাদি প্রয়োগে কেউ বা কিছু যখন স্থিরতা বা আত্মবিশ্বাস ফেরাতে সাহায্য করে তখন ব্যবহার করতে হয়। প্রায়ই কাউকে শান্ত বা নিরাপদ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
