権力を持つ人や困難に対して、怖がらずに自分の意見や権利を守って立ち向かうこと。自分を守る意味も持つ。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'立ち向かう'や'抵抗する'は上司やいじめ、強い相手に使われることが多い。行動や勇気を示す時にぴったり。単に立つ意味の'stand up'とは違うので注意。
