因驚訝或困惑而急促、含糊或結巴地說話，也指像某物啟動不順時發出的噼啪聲。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

多為口語。常形容引擎、火焰不順暢的噼啪聲，也用在人在緊張、意外時著急混亂的說話。不要與“stutter”（口吃障礙）混淆。
