Definition
‘speak’-এর পুরানো বা সাহিত্যিক অতীতকালের রূপ, সাধারণত ঐতিহাসিক বা ধর্মীয় বইয়ে পাওয়া যায়।
Usage Notes (Bengali)
শুধুমাত্র পুরাতন সাহিত্য বা ধর্মগ্রন্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়; আধুনিক প্রয়োগে 'spoke' লিখুন।
Examples
He spake the truth in the court.
সে আদালতে **বলিলেন** সত্য কথা।
The prophet spake to the people.
নবী জনগণকে **বলিলেন**।
She spake softly to her child.
তিনি তার সন্তানের সাথে মৃদুভাবে **বলিলেন**।
And the king spake, declaring peace throughout the land.
এবং রাজা **বলিলেন**, দেশে শান্তি ঘোষণা করিলেন।
