聞いたことに基づいて、本当かどうかわからないがそう思えることを表す時に使う表現。話し手の印象や推測を示す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな会話でよく使われ、「It sounds as if...」や「You sound as if...」のように続きます。印象や推測に使い、事実を断定しません。「seem as if」と混同しないように注意。
