Definition

液体の表面から薄い層をすくい取ること（例：牛乳からクリームを取る）；また、不正にお金の一部を横取りすること。

通常は口語的な表現。料理やお金の横領の両方で使われる。『skim cream off』や『skim off profits』などの形でよく出る。単独の『skim』（ざっと読む）とは別なので注意。
