Tomar el lugar de otra persona, generalmente de forma temporal, y hacer su trabajo o asistir a algo en su nombre.

Suele usarse en el trabajo, reuniones, clases o música ('sit in for the drummer'). Indica reemplazo temporal, no permanente. Se usa con 'for' seguido de persona.
