Definition
重さ、疲労、悲しみ、崩壊などで高い位置からゆっくりと下がること。物や人が物理的に低くなるときや、気持ちが沈む場合にも使う。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
'Sink down' は、椅子やベッドにゆっくり沈み込む、または気持ちが沈むといった、静かで徐々な動きを表すことが多い。'chair', 'bed', 'knees'、感情とよく一緒に使う。少し文学的・描写的な響きがある。急な動きには使わない。
