声の高さが上下し、歌うようなリズムで話す・読む話し方や声質のことです。音楽的で心地よいが、単調に感じることもあります。

主に子供の話し声や物語を読む時、からかう時によく使われます。心地よく聞こえる場合も、単調でやや退屈に感じる場合もあります。口語的な表現です。
