剪影是在較亮背景下看見的黑色輪廓，只看到輪廓而無法分辨細節。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

常見於藝術、攝影與敘事中，強調形狀而非細節，常用複數。不要與“shadow”（陰影）混淆，shadow是因擋住光線產生的暗區。常用語法：“in silhouette（以剪影方式）”。
