공식적인 합의나 문서에 서명하여 그 조건을 받아들인 사람, 단체, 혹은 국가를 말합니다.

주로 공식적, 법률적, 국제적인 협정 등에서 사용됩니다. 비공식적인 약속에는 사용하지 않습니다. 대부분 복수형으로 여러 주체를 지칭할 때 쓰입니다.
