Definition

शटर लकड़ी या धातु के पैनल होते हैं जिन्हें खिड़कियों के अंदर या बाहर लगाया जाता है ताकि रोशनी रोकी जा सके, गोपनीयता रखी जा सके या मौसम से सुरक्षा मिल सके। यह कैमरे के उस हिस्से को भी कहते हैं जो फोटो लेते समय प्रकाश आने देता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

घरों या इमारतों में प्रायः बहुवचन में उपयोग होता है, जैसे 'open the shutters', 'close the shutters'। फोटोग्राफी में (एकवचन) में कैमरे का हिस्सा। 'Blinds' (सिर्फ अंदर के पर्दे) से न मिलाएँ।
