人や物を他の人から離して、長い間どこかに閉じ込めたり隠したりすること。他人と関われないようにする意味もある。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
多くの場合「閉じ込められる」など受け身で使われます。病院や自室など、物理的・精神的に隔離される場合にも使います。
