甘くてホロホロした生地のケーキで、フルーツや生クリームを重ねて作ります。特にいちごと一緒に食べることが多いデザートです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

日本では「ショートケーキ」と言うと、いちごの乗ったケーキ（特にスポンジケーキ）を指すことが多いが、英語圏のshortcakeはビスケット生地に近い食感。通常デザートで使い、チーズケーキやショートブレッドとは異なる。
