Tener un problema eléctrico donde la corriente fluye por un camino no previsto, generalmente haciendo que un dispositivo deje de funcionar o que un circuito falle.

Usado sobre todo para aparatos eléctricos o electrónicos; es informal y técnico. Se usa comúnmente en frases como 'la tele hizo cortocircuito'. No se refiere a apagados planeados, solo a fallas por mal funcionamiento.
