Definition

大型はさみは、布や植物、金属などを切るための大きくて丈夫なはさみです。普通のはさみより刃が長く、力強く作られています。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

英語の 'shears' は常に複数形で使います。'garden shears'（園芸用）, 'hedge shears'（生け垣用）などがよく使われます。紙を切るのには使いません。'a shear' とは言いません。
