誰かにお金と引き換えに物を渡すこと。また、商品が市場でよく売れる（人気がある）場合にも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

動詞で、'sell'は原形、'sells'は三人称単数現在形です（She sells books＝彼女は本を売っている）。'sell cars'（車を売る）、'sell well'（よく売れる）、'sell out'（売り切れる）などの表現で使います。「買う（buy）」とは反対の意味です。
