Definition

무언가를 세게 쥐거나 눌러서 구겨지게 만들거나 작은 모양으로 만드는 것. 강한 감정이나 빛에 얼굴을 찡그리는 것도 의미함.

비격식적으로 쓰이며, 종이·옷·머리카락·얼굴 등에 주로 사용. 'scrunch up a paper'는 종이를 구기다, 'scrunch your nose'는 코를 찡그리다. 'crumple', 'squeeze'와는 느낌이 다름.

She scrunched the letter and threw it away.
