ひっかくこと

Definition

爪や何か鋭いもので肌や物の表面をこすること。かゆみを止めたり、傷をつけたりする時に使います。

「ひっかく」は皮膚や物によく使われます。混乱した時は「頭をかく」となり、直訳ではなく自然な表現を使います。比喩表現「表面をなぞる」にも使われます。

My cat is scratching the couch.

うちの猫がソファを**ひっかいて**いる。

She can't stop scratching her arm.
