Definition

किसी चीज़ की सतह को हटाने के लिए उसे ज़ोर से रगड़ना, या त्वचा के हल्के छिल जाने को भी कहते हैं।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह शब्द साफ़ करने ('scrape the plate'), हटाने ('scrape old paint') या हल्की चोट पर ('scrape your knee') के लिए आम है। 'scratch' की तुलना में कम गहरा होता है और अक्सर किसी औज़ार या कठोर चीज़ से किया जाता है। 'scrape by' बोलचाल में मुश्किल से काम चलाना होता है।
